childcare on your commute PDF Print E-mail

In addition to quality of care, personal values, hours of operation and center policies, working families must also find care centers on their commute. Bus travel can be tricky with kids because of all the gear parents need to bring, in addition to their own work. Schedules can be difficult to keep especially when the weather fails to cooperate. Taxis are an alternative if you need to get to the kids quick, but they’re expensive, and then there’s the whole car seat requirement to consider. Ask yourself - is your center close to you? How long would it take to travel there if your child gets sick? Parents have to do a lot of juggling, finding a daycare center on your commute is just something to consider in your evaluation.
